Shannon Orr, LCMHC, NCC is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in NC & SC and providing virtual therapy to predominantly children ranging in age 1-18 years old. She earned a Masters Degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Francis Marion University. Shannon has over 14 years experience working with children, teenagers, and families in outpatient, residential and school treatment settings.

The approach to treatment includes an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered, and Strength based techniques. Additional training was obtained through Z-Five (ages 0-5) collaborative which raises awareness, advocates for resources, and enhances the quality of services provided to young children and their families. Shannon believes Therapy is a Team Effort and utilizes Child-Centered and Internal Family Systems approaches.

Shannon strives to provide a safe environment for parents to process through the many emotions related to their role and learn some new skills along the way. She finds the most success when a guardian/parent plays an active role in their child’s therapy. Each client/family will have their own unique needs and Shannon feels an eclectic approach to therapy will best meet those individual needs. Shannon also has a passion for working with the Neurodivergent population and finds there are many hidden strengths to be identified and nourished.

Shannon is excited to be offering individual counseling virtually and 2 virtual groups:

Groups:
(1) A group for parents/guardian of elementary-age Neurodivergent children
(2) A group for new mothers to help with the many unexpected ups and downs with parenting
