Sean Miller MSW, LCSW, LCASA
Sean received his Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has a background in studying art and studio painting at University of North Carolina School of the Arts and pastoral counseling at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Sean’s eclectic and creative approach to counseling is influenced by a range of therapeutic approaches, and primarily utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Gestalt Therapy.
Sean works with clients ages 15 and above, of any sex or gender and the LGBTQ community.
He takes a trauma-informed care approach, focusing on your natural strengths and views counseling as an opportunity for personal growth. Sean has a background in addiction counseling and enjoys working with people who are experiencing mood disorders, such as anxiety, depression, personality disorders, grief, loss, separation, illness, and relational issues. He has a passion for working with people who are experiencing difficulties adapting to life’s changes.
Sean views himself as a life-long learner and in his free time enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, watching films and documentaries, as well has a passion for continuous personal growth using the mind and body. He views growth as a process. As the zen teacher, Charlotte Jocko Beck says, “Who knows how we should be? We simply do our best, over and over and over.”
