Marriage & Family Therapy

What is Marital Therapy?

The therapist works with both individuals in the relationship to identify the issues that have contributed to the marital issues and work to establish effective communication and behavioral skills to resolve the issues. Each individual may have an opportunity to meet individually with the therapist at least once and then transition to a joint session with the partner. The role of the therapist is to remain neutral and non-judgmental while trying to build the skill sets to help the relationship grow.

What is Family Therapy?

The entire family participates in therapy while working with the therapist to identify the unique dynamics of the family and work towards resolving the conflicts in a positive, healthy manner. It is important for each family member to accept their contribution to the family state and learn more effective communication skills with the family members.
